Jeuveau is an FDA-cleared injectable treatment that works to improve the appearance of moderate-to-severe frown lines. Frown lines, also known as glabellar lines, are the pesky little wrinkles between the eyebrows that develop with age and won’t go away. When a small amount of Jeuveau is injected into the underlying muscle, you can reduce your frown lines to look and feel much younger!
HOW DOES JEUVEAU WORK?
Like Botox, Jeuveau prevents your nerves from telling your facial muscles to flex. The result? In clinical trials, Jeuveau was shown to improve the appearance of moderate-to-severe frown lines for a temporary amount of time. In two long-term safety studies, patients received an average of 3 treatments over 1 year.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING MY APPOINTMENT?
During your initial complimentary consultation, your provider will create a custom treatment plan. He will assess the movement and strength of your facial muscles. This assessment will help him determine the amount and location of the injections. At each visit, we document your individualized treatment plan in your chart for future reference to ensure that we perfect the dosing and exact placement that works best for you.
During treatments, a series of small shots are injected into the targeted muscles. A precise amount of product is carefully placed into each site for maximum, lasting results. The entire procedure takes 10-15 minutes, and there is no downtime. A topical anesthetic may be applied to your skin to minimize discomfort during your treatment. Possible bruising at injection sites may occur but is rare.
WHEN SHOULD I EXPECT TO SEE RESULTS?
You will begin to feel the full effects 2-7 days after your treatment.* Your results will depend on your metabolism, muscle strength, and how active those muscles are. Some clients will metabolize the product very quickly and will, therefore, need injections more often. The stronger your muscles are, the more product you will need.
Typically, results last a few months. Since Jeuveau is temporary, it is best to come in every 3-4 months to maintain your results.* We recommend scheduling your maintenance appointments before your treatment wears off completely.
ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?
The most commonly reported side effects in clinical trials include bruising and swelling at injection site, headache, eyelid drooping, upper respiratory tract infection, and increased white blood cell count. No serious drug-related adverse events were observed in the studies.
