WHAT IS KYBELLA®?

Kybella® is the first and only FDA-approved non-surgical treatment to improve the appearance and profile of moderate to severe submental fat. The active ingredient, deoxycholic acid is a naturally-occurring molecule that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat in the body. Administered through a series of injections under the chin, Kybella® effectively destroys fat cells, preventing the storage or accumulation of fat. For this reason, Kybella® is considered a permanent, non-surgical treatment option.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM THE TREATMENTS?

Our skin experts will work with you to design a customized treatment plan to improve the profile of your neck and chin. During your treatment, your provider will mark out the area being treated with injections.

A numbing agent may be used to make the procedure more comfortable, but most patients only report mild discomfort. Multiple injections with a small, fine needle will be made into the fatty tissues under the chin. If needles aren’t your thing, don’t worry: the entire procedure only lasts a few minutes. You may experience warmth and swelling following your treatment, but it will fade.

WHEN WILL I NOTICE MY RESULTS? 

Everyone is different and the number of injections and treatments will depend on the extent of your submental fullness. For many patients 3-5 treatment sessions are recommended to accomplish the desired results. Treatment sessions are spaced at least one month apart, but the results are worth the wait.
